Walking in Their Footsteps
Much has been written about the airfields of the New Forest and there is material on many different websites, but if you want to get a real feel for what the airfields were like, you have to get out there and walk the ground for yourself. Whilst much has disappeared over the last 80 years, there is still enough to spark the imagination and give you a feel for these historic places.
I live on the edge of the former Christchurch airfield and as a former pilot and life-time aviation enthusiast I have developed a long standing interest in the World War 2 airfields of the New Forest.
